The laboratory
We measure the world for a living.

Ommny began in 2024 with a shared irritation. The three of us came from speech, vision, and robotics teams that kept meeting at the same bottleneck: the senses do not arrive in separate requests. A person hearing a page turn has already expected the shadow. Every model we had was born deaf to that expectation, and no amount of wiring models together after the fact seemed to teach it.
So we stopped building six kinds of model and started building one corpus. The omnibus corpus records the world the way witnesses experience it, every channel at once, with provenance attached. The models that train on it, O-1 and its distillations, inherit the expectation we could never engineer: a strawberry looks, sounds, and feels like one thing.
Today the lab is thirty-one people across six disciplines, including two perfumers, an audiologist, and a former line cook, all of whom appear in the acknowledgments of our reports because their senses are in the corpus too. We remain small on purpose. Perception research is a craft of measurement, and measurement does not scale by headcount.
House rules
- 01
Measure first
If a claim has no error bar, it is an anecdote. We preregister, we report the misses, and we keep the logs.
- 02
Credit the corpus
Every capability traces back to consent-cleared captures and the people behind them. Provenance is a feature, not paperwork.
- 03
Ship the senses
A perception model that stays inside the paper is a photograph of a tool. Ours answer the phone.
The record so far

Two rooms
Ommny opens in a former recording studio in Marseille and an optics bench in San Francisco. The omnibus corpus, v0, ships in December.
- 2025
The encoders arrive
S-1 lands, tactile grounding cuts damage rates on the manipulation suite, and the safety report sets the house policy on hallucinated perception.

The flagship and the API
O-1 trains on 2.4 trillion tokens across six channels. The perception API opens to waitlist, and this journal begins.
The laboratory keeps public office hours in the journal. Send a note through the access desk, or request entry to the perception API and meet the models themselves.
